Welcome to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
Bringing Hope to the Community
KNOWING
The primary way we know God is through His Word, the Bible. At Good Shepherd, solid Bible teaching is central to our Sunday morning worship, classes, and small groups.

GROWING
As we know God through His Word, we grow as disciples of Jesus. We serve him and love others. Our roots of faith grow deep as we learn to trust God with every area of our lives.

ABOUT US
Good Shepherd is a church family committed to bringing hope to the community. It is our desire that all people would discover the grace, forgiveness, and eternal life found in Jesus Christ. At Good Shepherd, we focus on the basics of the Christian faith and teach the Bible as the inspired and inerrant Word of God.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Good Shepherd is to know God and His Word, grow as disciples of Jesus, care for one another, and reach our community for Christ.
CORE VALUES
Solid Bible teaching, Genuine community
At Good Shepherd, we prioritize studying God’s Word and spending time with other believers. Everything we do flows from Scripture. In our worship services, classes, small groups, and fellowship events, we learn what it means to follow Jesus. We seek to equip believers for life and ministry in their families, homes, jobs, and involvement in the community.
HISTORY
Proclaiming the Gospel, Making disciples
Since 1998, Good Shepherd has been a strong influence for the gospel in the city of Camarillo. From the early days in a storefront building in Old Town to an elementary school in Mission Oaks to our current location in central Camarillo, we have faithfully taught God’s Word to all ages. Our Christmas at the Barn outreach, Easter sunrise service at Mugu Rock Beach, Vacation Bible School program, and sports clinics have provided a strong gospel presence in our community.
BELIEFS
Based upon Scripture, Rooted in Theology
At Good Shepherd, we emphasize two evangelical foundations. First, the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and our source of truth (2 Timothy 3:16). Second, everyone needs a saving relationship with Jesus Christ (John 14:6). We are affliliated with the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC), a church body consisting of 275 congregations across the US, committed to solid Bible teaching and the basics of Lutheran theology.
